Please join us for a Social Networking Event and Wine Tasting featuring Certified Wine Specialist and Educator Paul Malagrifa

This is a complimentary event for SIM Boston Members and the second social outing of the Technology Leadership Series program of 2018. It will be a great opportunity to gather and network with your SIM peers as the summer winds down and you prepare to revamp for the second half of 2018.

For this special occasion,  Paul Malagrifa from Musings on the Vine  has selected  7 representative wines to be paired with appropriate passed appetizers that will tempt our taste buds and evoke the magic of Italian cuisine.  We will finish the night with more networking around the fire pit overlooking the beautiful Cambridge Reservoir.  Networking is available during the Wine Tasting Event for those who do not wish to partake in the wine tasting, featuring appetizers and cash bar.

The Wines of Italy

Not only is Italy one of the oldest wine making regions in the world, it is also one of the most diverse. Italy boasts thousands of wines: red, white and rosé, sparkling, still and sweet – there is literally a wine for every palate.

At this event, we will be tasting wines, from several regions in Italy. We start our journey with a refreshing and lively Prosecco, followed by a pair of crisp, enticing whites. We then take a detour south to enjoy an infinitely quaffable red that embodies Italy’s sun-drenched personality. Heading north again, we will enjoy two more classic reds that have literally been transformed over the last ten years from pedestrian plonk to bankable stars. As we wind down the evening, we will partake of the lightly sweet and delicately exotic charms of Moscato d’Asti.

Paul Malagrifa is a Certified Wine Educator* who has been avidly pursuing his passion for wine for the last 20+ years. In the 1980s, Paul began making his own wine from grapes grown in the Finger Lakes region of New York. This hobby, in turn, spurred Paul to begin collecting and studying the wine making of others.  In the 1990s, Paul was a member of a local Massachusetts Master of Wine tasting group and was featured on TV’s Chronicle. Paul’s love of wine is infectious and his favorite pastime is sharing his experience and knowledge of wine with others.
