Blockchain Technology is emerging as a disruptive force in both commercial markets, non-governmental (NGO) and governmental sectors. The impact of Blockchain Technology is being felt in financial services, real estate, energy, retail, healthcare, supply chain, insurance, private transportation/ ride sharing, restaurant, travel, cybersecurity, music, entertainment and in various services provided by governments as blockchain pilots emerge. Blockchain value includes trust, immutability, transparency and improving operating efficiency resulting in cost reduction.
Opportunities exist in the development of disruptive blockchain solutions that integrated other technologies including Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, artificial intelligence and 3D printing to mention a few. Estimates suggest IoT will consist of almost 50 billion objects by 2020. Trusted IoT devices with blockchain technology will enable intelligent ecosystems like smart cities, smart electric grids, intelligent transportation systems and smart & transparent supply chains. Blockchain may become the next essential technology like electricity or computers and the internet. Join us for a discussion of the Future of Blockchain.
