We are excited to announce the next CIO Roundtable, hosted by our friend Ravi Shankavaram at the New Balance headquarters building in Brighton, MA.  We will be taking a deep dive into the state of CRM, helped by representatives from three different CRM worlds: Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and Sugar.

We have enlisted the help of three well-respected consultants who deliver world-class CRM solutions every day.  In this panel discussion, they will share their personal perspectives on their tool of choice, as well as what the future of CRM will look like.  We will be exploring such topics as:

Kevin Cook, Executive Vice President, BrainSell 

Kevin joined BrainSell in 2008, with more than 20 years’ experience in media and high-tech. Kevin’s education includes a BS in physics and MA in communications.  If Kevin looks familiar, you may have seen him as a news reporter in Baltimore.

As our Executive Vice President, Kevin is adept at business process management within the enterprise. As a former programmer, he has deep expertise in the products we sell and building the infrastructure necessary to make business process efficient.  Kevin is certified for SugarCRM in both Sales and Admin.

Kevin lives in the Boston area with his wife and four children.  When not in the office, he likes to spend time on his 42 foot sailboat.

Brian Shea, Founder & Principal, Shea Consulting

Brian Shea started Shea Consulting in 2012 to help organizations use technology to simplify and improve how they engage with their customers.

Brian has a deep understanding and appreciation for customer relationship management. Before launching his firm, he spent 10 years working on CRM processes and applications for large companies and institutions. Shea has earned a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Bentley University.

Shea Consulting’s past clients include higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, global firms and innovative small companies.

Richard Smith, Senior Solution Architect, AKA Enterprise Solutions

With more than 25 years of CRM and consulting experience, Richard is one of AKA’s most senior solution architects. He has extensive expertise in the financial services, government, and technology industries, designing solutions and leading projects on high-profile CRM implementations for organizations including CAPTRUST and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs throughout the course of his career.

In his role at AKA, Richard’s specialties include custom application development, data migration, integration, and enterprise reporting, as well as Cloud-based development in Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and Dynamics 365. He focuses on collaborating with customers and the AKA team to develop relevant, targeted solutions that address critical business needs that result in a proven return on investment. His goal is to “wrap his mind” around each customer’s unique needs—to truly understand what they do, the challenges they face, and where the breakthrough opportunities lie.

Richard also brings over a decade of experience in project delivery and product management. His background in working with financial services firms and software companies in this capacity lends itself well to tackling sales and marketing challenges. In addition, a strong background in working with databases helps him “bring order out of chaos.”

Richard is a graduate of Boston College and has been published numerous articles on the intersection of CRM and the business market.
