Topic: The CISO Role
Our own Bill Brown will break down how a CISO operationalizes their Information Security Strategy. He will review the process he uses to address the specific threats and vulnerabilities to an organization’s critical information assists, as well as the risks arising from gaps in good security hygiene practices. The group will discuss frameworks and tools for addressing Cybersecurity Risk and Hygiene.

About Bill Brown:
Bill currently serves as Chief Information Security Officer at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, was formerly the CIO & CISO at Veracode and previously held CIO roles at Avid Technology and Iron Mountain. Bill was recognized as a 2010 Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader and received his MBA from Babson College. Bill has a passion around architecting comprehensive risk based Information Security programs, which balance Enablement and Enforcement, work across company leadership, and are understood and embraced by Executive Teams and Boards of Directors. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, holds their Certificate in Board of Director Cybersecurity Oversight and serves as an advisor at CloudHealth Technologies, InsightSquared and Globespan Capital Partners.
