Latino STEM Alliance holds annual Robotics Competition on May 19th – seeking judges and volunteers!

Submitted by Joe Monroy, SIM Boston

Latino STEM Alliance invites SIM members and the public to its annual Robotics competition and Family Science Festival on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 10am to 2pm at the Melnea A. Cass Recreational Complex located at 120 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Boston. Attendance is FREE and attendees will explore fun, hands-on activities and experiments in the Family Science Festival.

The competition is an opportunity to learn about and support our students and their mentors as they compete against other students from Boston Public Schools and Lawrence Family Development Charter School using the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) skills they learned throughout the school year to build and program their own robots. The robots will be used to complete on game fields built by volunteers and students representing the NUTRONS Robotics Club.

We would be thrilled for the SIM community to consider attending. We are also actively looking for SIM members who would be interested in being a competition judge or volunteer.

Please contact Lauren Cooke at if you are interested on participating.
