The evening of April 10th started out with a networking opportunity for folks to catch up, introduce themselves to new members, and take in some of the ambiance of the Provant Office building. Refreshments were sponsored by Millenium Consulting. Kathy Malin, VP Technology and Operations – The Rhode Island Foundation, kicked the program off by introducing the group to an initiative the Foundation was taking to bring folks together and discuss ideas on how to improve things in the state. The name of the program is Together RI and everyone was invited to sign up at www.togetherri.org to attend one of several meetings, enjoy a complimentary dinner and share their ideas for how the state can improve.

Next the group enjoyed an outstanding presentation by Art van Meeteren covering the Business Application of Drone Technology. Starting off with the history, various models, and the everchanging landscape of how they are used, Art brought the technology to life. He even shared some videos and passed around various models that together brought out the kid in everyone there. The Q&A that followed was lively and focused on both the legal complications of drone technology as well as the future for those employing them.

The evening wrapped up with dinner and drinks at The Safe House, a local favorite of our Provant Consultant host, Aditya Arora. The food was fantastic, the drinks were well earned and the continuing conversation took us well into the evening. Everyone in attendance is already looking forward to our next meeting.
