Service Desk Roundtable discussed Windows 10 and Group Policy Objects on September 19th

Submitted by Larry Lister, Service Desk Roundtable Co-Chair

On Tuesday, September 19th, the Service Desk Roundtable was held at the offices of NEPC in Boston. The topics of discussion were Windows 10 and Group Policy Objects. The group of nine attendees had a good discussion on the adoption of Windows 10 in the Enterprise, comprising training, installation, and steady state support. The conversation flowed freely into other related support areas and a lot of good information was exchanged.

For the discussion on GPO’s, Hugh Cauthers from Boston Properties provided some good, real world experience and examples with input from Chris Ferguson of NEPC. It was a very interesting topic for all and generated many good questions. After the meeting everyone reconvened at Ned Devines in the Faneuil Hall Marketplace for an excellent dinner and more good conversation.

A recent first-time participant provided feedback about the meeting last week:

“I think the most valuable aspect of the roundtable was the comfort I felt asking a fellow Roundtable participant if I could pick his brain at a later date. The answer was a most confident ‘yes’, and I knew my time at the Roundtable and dinner was time well-spent.”
