SIM Boston was well represented at the national SIM Chapter Leader Summit in Chicago in April. Among the hundred participants were Kevin More, current SIM National Chair, Pat Randall, SIM National Membership co-chair, and SIM Boston board members Susan Kifer, Jim Martin, Dan Diachenko and Dennis Ravenelle. SIM Boston chapter member Dan Roberts also participated in his role as facilitator for re-launching the SIM Tampa chapter. (read more)

Chapter leaders were met with an inspiring keynote and welcome by Illinois’ Chief Digital Officer and Secretary of the Department of Innovation and Technology, Hardik Bhatt. We shared ideas and practices on everything from how to attract new members and retain existing ones, sponsorship recruitment, governance, and outreach. We held working sessions on the new membership technology platform project and were treated to a very informative and entertaining session on non-profit organization legal and tax matters by SIM’s General Counsel Paula Goedert.

Everyone left energized and with the feeling that each of our chapter families is a member of a larger national – and potentially international – family.
